Rembrandt® teeth whitening offers a safe, fast, and easy way to restore the brilliancy of your teeth. During this in-office procedure, Dr. Frandsen applies the potent Rembrandt® bleaching gel to the front surfaces of the teeth, being careful to shield the gums from exposure. The gel is then chemically activated by a special blue-spectrum sapphire light, which breaks the gel down so that it can penetrate the enamel to clean stains and reverse discoloration. The treatment only takes about an hour and whitens teeth ten shades, on average.
LUMINEERS® porcelain veneers are an effective, safe, and durable way to conceal chipped, misshapen, discolored, or misaligned teeth. The veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that is fixed to the front of a tooth to mask minor aesthetic flaws. Porcelain is an excellent material for veneers because of its lifelike luster and its resistance to stains. Porcelain veneers are crafted to complement the color, size, shape, and texture of your surrounding natural teeth so that they are virtually indistinguishable.
Porcelain veneers require at least three visits to Dr. Frandsen’s office. The first visit will include an in-depth consultation to determine whether you are a suitable LUMINEERS® candidate. If you and the doctor decide that porcelain veneers are the best option for you, we will make impressions of your teeth, which will be sent to the laboratory that will create your LUMINEERS® veneers. During the third appointment, Dr. Frandsen will carefully bond the dental veneer in place, allowing you to enjoy a brilliant new smile that will dazzle for many years to come.
Dental bonding provides a cosmetic solution for teeth that have minor chips, discoloration, or other aesthetic flaws. It can also be used to cover a part of a tooth’s root that has been exposed due to receding gums. Bonding is a process in which a composite resin is applied to the tooth and then cured upon exposure to a special light. It hardens and bonds to the tooth, forming a thin plastic layer that improves the look of the tooth after it is smoothed, polished, and shaped.
Dr. Frandsen offers tooth-colored fillings as an alternative to traditional metal or amalgam fillings. Tooth-colored composite fillings are mercury free, eliminating any risks associated with metal fillings. Tooth-colored fillings also have the advantage of being aesthetically pleasing, as they are shaded to match the color of natural teeth and are barely noticeable to the casual observer. They also chemically bond to the tooth, strengthening them, and oftentimes require the removal of less tooth structure than when a tooth is prepared for a metal filling.
Any combination of treatments may be used to help achieve the aesthetic goals you have for your teeth. Dr. Frandsen can use a dental crown, sometimes referred to as a cap, to remedy a range of problems. Crowns are similar to porcelain veneers in that they fit over teeth, but crowns cover the entire surface of a tooth, while veneers fit only over the front. Crowns may be used to provide structural support for a damaged tooth, to cover a decayed tooth after endodontic treatment, or as a cosmetic solution to mask the appearance of a tooth that is discolored, chipped, or otherwise damaged.
The placement of a dental crown requires at least two visits to our office. During the first visit, Dr. Frandsen will prepare the affected tooth by filing it down to make room for the restoration. Then, he will take an impression of the tooth and send it to our premier dental laboratory. Once the customized crown is ready, the patient returns to have it fitted over his or her tooth, and Dr. Frandsen bonds it firmly into place. Dental bridges are used to fill gaps left by missing teeth. A bridge is comprised of a replacement tooth held in place by crowns fixed to the natural teeth remaining on either side of a gap. Bridges not only help Dr. Frandsen to create a more aesthetically pleasing smile, but they also prevent surrounding teeth from shifting out of their natural position to fill the empty space.
